LGB 2156 Santa Fe Alco Diesel with New Massoth DCC/DC Power/Sound System - $800

Excellent condition LGB 2156 Santa Fe Alco Diesel Locomotive........note the very low amount of operating wear on the electrical pickup shoes.  The Massoth (Germany) sound system provides outstanding realistic diesel sounds using a Massoth/Visaton 5 Watt 8 Ohm 150 - 20,000 Hz speaker!

DCC Power Operations:  Old Dominion Railways has installed a brand new Massoth XLS DCC/DC Power/Sound Decoder into this locomotive.  Under DCC/Digital power, the locomotive has five horn sounds (signal crossing; forward; reverse; single blast; low level signal crossing) that can be activated with your DCC handheld controller; plus air brakes release sound; bell; brake squell; coupler sound; alarm bell; motor on/off; sound on/off.  Directional headlights, taillights and front/rear loco number running lights are controlled by  your DCC controller on/off button..........the decoder is set for headlights "on" when moving forward, rear lights and front mounted red light are activated "on" when the loco is in reverse direction.......running lights stay lighted in either direction.    Also installed are  a master power on/off switch and a Massoth sound volume control knob in the locomotive's removable top cover.   There is a two pin power connector on the rear of the locomotive for providing track power to passenger car lights.  The LGB red box and a color copy of the LGB Owner's Instructions, along with copies of the Massoth XLS decoder's documentation (Installation and Configuration Manuals), are also provided.

DC Power Operations:  While this locomotive will operate in DC/Analog power mode, including directional forward and reverse lighting features, the full sound system features are only available if the locomotive is operated in DCC/Digital power.   But if you plan to operate the locomotive on DC/Analog power,  here are the sound features:  Slight power applied, the engine will start up and the lights turn on; additional power applied the loco's horn will sound two times forward, or in reverse, three times; when the loco comes to a stop, the engine will rev down and the air brakes sound will be heard.  If you want to activate the horn or bell using track magnets, then a Massoth eMotion Reed Contact PCB must be installed into the motor block and plugged into the Massoth sound decoder.  I will install this DC sound feature for an additional $30 cost to the posted price.  Or, you can buy and install the Massoth 8242020 Reed Contact PCB yourself (my price for this part is $20) into the rear motor block.

This locomotive's Massoth diesel sound system is demonstrated at Old Dominion Railways - LGB Trains.

SELLER'S 12 MONTH WARRANTY: If the locomotive's Massoth installed power/sound decoder system should need repair during the 12 month period after the purchase date, the seller will repair it at no labor cost to the buyer.  If the Massoth decoder is defective and Massoth will replace it under their manufacturer warranty at no cost, then the buyer will not be charged for the cost of the replacement decoder.  If the locomotive motors should fail during the 12 month period, there is no labor cost to replace either motor, however, the buyer pays for the cost of a replacement motor ($70).  The Buyer pays for both the locomotive shipping costs to the seller for any repair service and also pays for the return shipping costs back to the buyer.
