PURCHASE OF LOCOMOTIVES & TRAIN CARS - QUALITY GUARANTEE & WARRANTY

There are two categories of LGB locomotives being sold.  Category #1:  BRAND NEW LGB/MARKLIN LOCOMOTIVES AND TRAIN CARS:  The Brand New LGB Locomotives produced by Marklin since 2007  listed below for sale come with Marklin's two year manufacter's warranty as described in the Marklin Warranty pamphlet.   Category #2:  PRE-MARKLIN (2006 and Earlier) locomotives, brand new or pre-owned, produced by the original LGB company, Ernst Paul Lehmann Patentwerk, during 1968 - 2006 are throughly inspected and tested to ensure they meet the highest performance standards, including the electronics, smokers and lights, motor blocks, wheels, carbon brushes and gears; gear grease and axle oil are refreshed, and on steam engines, driving rod joints are re-oiled.  Any component or device not working to specifications is repaired or replaced.  Old Dominion Railways only sells new or like-new LGB locomotives which undergo this rigorous testing and reconditioning, and certifies their mechanical, electrical and sound system performance excellence.   Any pre-owned Marklin-produced LGB locomotives listed for sale here also undergo the same inspection, test and refurbishment process.
 
WARRANTY:  LGB Locomotives produced during 1968 - 2006 by the original LGB Company, Ernst Paul Lehmann Patentwerk, Germany, no longer have factory warranties even if they are brand new items.   The LGB Company went into bankruptcy in 2006, but the rights to the LGB engineering and manufacturing molds were bought by Marklin Trains Germany which now produces LGB locomotives and rolling stock in their factory in Hungry.  Old Dominion Railways provides a 12 months warranty on each designated "brand new" and "like-new" LGB locomotive produced by the original LGB Company as follows:  If the factory-installed gear box and/or Buhler motor should operationally fail during the 12 months warranty period after the purchase date, return the locomotive to Old Dominion Railways and it will be repaired at no cost to the buyer.......all shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.    This warranty also applies to Marklin-produced used LGB locomotives offered for sale here.
